Since our beginning in 1998, we have accomplished many steps towards setting up an infrastructure which can support our long-term vision. These include: specific zoning for an ecowellness centre, a fully functioning holistic clinic heated and cooled by a geothermal system, a learning centre complete with composting toilets, gravel roads, a garden area, a site plan for the building of four more ecohomes, charitable status and our website.

As of 2006 we are ready for additional people and projects. Carp Ridge EcoWellness Centre encourages people with backgrounds and experience in sustainable practices to consider joining us in further developing, improving and growing our Centre. We see the possibility of several creative initiatives over the coming years.

Long-term goals for CREWC include projects which show how healing and sustainability can be integrated into all aspects of life: enhancing personal and family wellbeing (the core of developing a healthy society); youth programs; healthy and ecological lifestyles, from what we eat to what we wear to how we build/furnish our homes; optimizing the vehicles we drive; holistic education; green politics (no matter which party!); organic gardening; alternate energy systems; outdoor and wilderness programs; and spiritual growth. We would like to showcase as many of these aspects as possible to become an outstanding local educational centre for health and sustainability on this beautiful property. EcoWellness™ is a state of wellbeing that is personal, yet also extends to include others and the entire earth. Carp Ridge Ecowellness Centre works to promote health and healing methods which strengthen our many ties to this remarkable, rich world.

Food Aid: In our effort to support West Carleton Food Aid, Carp Ridge EcoWellness Centre is now a drop-off location for folks wishing to donate non-perishable food for those who are less fortunate in our community.

Our greatest challenge is to begin the awesome task of healing the earth and transforming human consciousness while there is still time. In the restoration of the earth we will realise our true human potentials and rejoice not in our own creations, but with all creation.
